It is. It’s just one of those Superbowl things, where oppo gets packed out with content that only relates to the Americans.

Can’t wait ‘til the next Commodore launches and Oppo is full of Aussie content

:(

Serious question: how is that different from....... most things? We’re Americans, we’re loud, stupid, and like blowing things up. We’re convinced that what’s important to us, is important to the whole planet and that things that don’t involve us are not important. I’m not saying that’s right/correct, I’m simply saying what is.

FWIW I would love to watch Australian Oppos meltdown into madness over whatever crimes against automotive awesomeness that Holden commits  during a product launch.

It is absolutely okay. It’s just, for the rest of us, it’s similar to a bunch of South Koreans getting excited about the next Hyunday Pony. I don’t want to shit on their party and I guess the car is fine, but... I don’t understand the exitement.

Yeah, I hear you.

It’s a lot of nostalgia for people my age (50). The first car I ever drove was a Blazer out in the Saudi desert circa 1980. In the malaise era Broncos and Blazers were some of the cooler things on the road, sure they were dog ass slow (everything was) but they were capable and different.

A lot of the excitement from car enthusiasts is that Ford made a real(ish) truck when they brought back the Bronco nameplate. G oing the exact opposite direction from Chevy when they turned the Blazer into a soft-roader. We can all agree that’s a good thing right?

Think of all the cool shit we do get that they will never see: Suzuki Jimny, Alpine A110, Skoda Superb Scout...etc etc.

Plus there’s the fact that we are getting an all new Ranger next year and the US isn't.

Most things don’t take over Oppo so thoroughly :)

Unfortunately those days are gone. I was laying in bed last night thinking of my youth, when Holden relaunched the Monaro nameplate as the coupe Commodore, and proceeded to make all sorts of badass HSV variations.

That was a good time to be Australian.

It’s true it’s true.

Suberb Scout is an interesting addition to that list

It is a good thing. We’ve got Mustang soft roader and 10 other Ford soft roaders. A proper 2-door truck is welcomed

Good to hear from our friends down in Oceania and take in their perspective on the automotive happenings in America.
